with attempted </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/murder" rel="" target="" title="murder"><span>murder</span></a><span> after allegedly causing the woman serious leg injuries by driving over her in his car at Caboolture, north of </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/brisbane" rel="" target="" title="Brisbane"><span>Brisbane</span></a><span>, on April 17, 2021.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>The 47-year-old woman confronted Mobbs after he allegedly rammed his way through a gate and into her backyard over a bail.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>After being granted bail on the downgraded charge of malicious act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, Mobbs was caught in </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/new-south-wales" rel="" target="" title="NSW"><span>NSW</span></a><span> in 2023 with multiple firearms and drugs.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He was extradited to Queensland after serving two years and five months in a NSW </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/prison" rel="" target="" title="prison"><span>prison</span></a><span> before being released on parole, Justice Kerri Mellifont heard.</span></div></div><div><div href="https://www.9news.com.au/queensland" rel="" target="" title="Queensland"><span>Queensland</span></a><span> as he was an unacceptable risk of committing further offences or failing to appear, the crown prosecutor said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Police searched the defendant's residence and found three firearms as well as a replica firearm," the prosecutor said about the NSW offences.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"They also located a number of stolen property items, drugs and steroids."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Mobbs's willingness to obtain firearms was concerning in light of his alleged attack on the woman, Justice Mellifont heard.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"A photograph was sent to the (alleged victim's) partner that depicted a firearm," the prosecutor said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Prosecutors had opposed Mobbs' original 2021 bail application, given the difficulty in enforcing conditions if he returned to living in NSW.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Mobbs now faced a significant period of imprisonment if convicted, the prosecutor said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"There was clearly animosity between the defendant and the (alleged victim) in the lead-up to the offending," the prosecutor the property without the permission of the occupants.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"The (woman) yelled that he was trespassing and to get off the property."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Mobbs allegedly drove through a closed gate the next day.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"He was essentially doing burnouts in the backyard ... Mobbs then drove directly at the complainant," the prosecutor said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"The deliberate nature at which he drove and continued attempts to reverse the car whilst she was underneath the vehicle, given the vulnerable situation she was in, that would speak to intention to cause her grievous bodily harm."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Mobbs was working full-time as a concreter and was not using drugs, defence solicitor Matthew McGann said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Justice Mellifont said Mobbs had been accused of an extremely serious offence.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"He has shown complete disrespect for orders of this court.
