a killer who kept his victim's family waiting for justice for three decades.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"In my 45 years of service and most of that doing major crime, I've never heard of that before," retired Detective Chief Inspector Peter Yeomans said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div crime.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A new police team took over, and in 2020 father-of-six White was arrested after confessing to undercover officers.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"That was all full of s---," the convicted killer said in a recorded interview at the time.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Had to say something to get these guys off my back."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>In court, there were many twists and turns: a guilty plea for murder, which was later retracted, before White finally admitted to manslaughter.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He has now served his minimum six-year has learned he has abandoned his bid for release.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"He has chosen to remain in custody to participate in a reintegration and support program," a statement from the State Parole Authority said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Be that true or not, that's his story," Yeomans said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>9News understands White ticked all the boxes, and everything was pointing to his release, but authorities cannot force him to leave, and he has another year to consider parole.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"If Mr White ever sees this, I would say, you took my brother's life, and I am glad you're paying for it and trying to
