target="" title="Hervey Bay"><span>Hervey Bay</span></a><span> on </span><a href="http://www.9news.com.au/queensland" rel="" target="" title="Queensland"><span>Queensland</span></a><span>'s Fraser Coast.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Police say a white Mitsubishi Lancer lost control on Maryborough Hervey Bay Road at Susan River just after 6pm yesterday, veering onto the wrong side of the road and swiping a white Suzuki Swift before colliding with an orange Kona.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div girl who was one of the passengers in the Mitsubishi both suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A 14-year-old boy who was also a passenger in the Mitsubishi was initially taken to Hervey Bay Hospital before being flown to Queensland Children's Hospital overnight.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A further seven people were taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with injuries including the 14-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi, a 16-year-old girl who was one of his passengers, a 58-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Suzuki, the 19-year-old man who was driving the Volkswagen as well as the 40-year-old male driver of the Kona, and his passegers, a 40-year-old woman and a two-year-old boy.</span></div></div><div><div class="OUTBRAIN" wheel.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"I can report that the driver of the first vehicle was 14 years old and did not have a driver's license," Inspector Paul Algie said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He said the vehicle was not reported as stolen.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Anyone with information or dashcam is urged to come forward to mind today.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"I have no doubt that as a result of this crash, they will be thinking about this again and it will bring up all of the very unpleasant and traumatic feelings that occurred on that night.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"I spoke to the media the day after that crash three years ago and today I will repeat the same message that I repeated then.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Everybody needs to remember that when you get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, you are carrying the same risk as a loaded
