<div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Anxious about a new photocopier, a Xerox service technician opened fire at his office, killing seven co-workers on November 2, 1999.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Byran Koji Uyesugi had been working as a technician for the company in their Hawaii office since 1984.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>But the main photocopier he was tasked with fixing was being phased out by the company in favour of a newer model.</span></div></div><div><div id="adspot-mobile-medium"></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Uyesugi feared he could not manage the most sophisticated photocopier and resisted being trained in how to repair it.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He was told firmly the previous day that his training in the new machine would begin tomorrow.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"I decided to give them a reason to fire me," Uyesugi later told a doctor.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Enraged, Uyesugi arrived at work the next day armed with a 9mm pistol.</span></div></div><div><div class="OUTBRAIN" data-reactroot="" data-src="//www.9news.com.au/world/today-in-history-november-2-what-happened-on-this-day/91455bd4-a2ee-414a-874a-d8e8d8b6b39f" data-widget-id="AR_5"></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He greeted some co-workers as usual, then began opening fire.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He fired 28 shots, 25 of which struck a person.
