mental institution, Jenkins said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><a Supreme Court"><span>Nebraska's Supreme Court</span></a><span> dismissed the lawsuit in 2016.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>As a 16-year-old, Jenkins had been sentenced to 18 years behind bars over two armed carjackings after a series of other juvenile offences.</span></div></div><div><div class="OUTBRAIN" data-reactroot="" prison in July 2013.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Less than two weeks later, Jenkins shot two strangers with a shotgun.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>In the following days, he murdered his third and fourth victims.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>When arrested, he told police he had killed his victims as sacrifices to the Egyptian god Apophis.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Nevertheless, he was deemed fit to stand trial and allowed to represent himself.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>During the trial, he "spoke in tongues", howled and laughed at inappropriate times.</span></div></div><div counsel.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>That appeal was ruled against earlier this year.</span></div></div><div
