<div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A man has died and another has been injured after a retaining wall collapsed in Brisbane's West End this morning.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed two patients suffered significant injuries when a retaining wall collapsed on Boundary Street in the inner-southern suburb just before 8.30am.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A 45-year-old man was in a life-threatening condition when paramedics arrived and died at the scene.</span></div></div><div><div id="adspot-mobile-medium"></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A 19-year-old man was also injured and has been taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition after a "prolonged extrication" that took more than an hour.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>The younger man was trapped from the waist down and was assisted by other workers on the scene who helped move rubble to allow paramedics to reach him.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Police are also on the scene and have described it as a workplace incident.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Workplace Health and Safety will investigate.</span></div></div><div><div class="OUTBRAIN" data-reactroot="" data-src="//www.9news.com.au/national/west-end-emergency-rescue-wall-collapse-brisbane-queensland-news/b3eecb55-477e-4649-9a40-24fb6a1de1c5" data-widget-id="AR_5"></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Boundary Street is currently closed between Melbourne Street and Edmondstone Street and motorists are advised to avoid the area.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><em><span>More to come.</span></em></div></div>
