causeways this morning, leaving some residents unable to go to work or school.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services issued an emergency warning due to flooding around the Todd River early this morning, but this warning was later downgraded to a watch and act warning.</span></div></div><div><div Dole said emergency services were called to rescue multiple people today, including a resident who became stuck in a tree.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"There's still a lady in a tree in Heavitree Gap with arrangements being made to rescue her," Dole said.</span></div></div><div goULFa"><span>Dole said a security guard was also rescued after he was cut off by floodwaters in the town and was unable to get back across a river.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Local state MP Joshua Burgoyne said schools were open today but residents should only travel to schools "if it is safe to do so".</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"There are some teachers, some educators, who are unable to get into school today, so they will be operating at a changed capacity," Burgoyne said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"You will not be turned away from school if you arrive there this morning with your children, but obviously if you are able to keep your kids home, that will help the education department."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div
