missed.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>He says nothing was done until his local MP intervened.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Brisbane City Council told 4BC its rubbish trucks do an "incredible job navigating busy Brisbane streets to collect our rubbish".</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Brisbane has the biggest waste collection service with more than 43 million bins collection each year or around 170,000 collections every single day," a council spokesman said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"While street access and parked cars can sometimes make it difficult for our trucks, around 99.9 per cent of bins are collected on time.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"If a bin is missed, it's usually collected within 24 hours."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>The station also contacted waste management service Veolia.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A 9News report revealed in the first five months of 2025 the council was contacted 12,000 times about missed bin collections in Brisbane.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"People go to work, work hard so they can pay their rates, they don't want to come home and have to report to council in some cases half a dozen times before their bins will actually get collected," council opposition leader Jared Cassidy said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Councils need to get three basic things right - roads, rates and rubbish."</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div
