<div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Tasmanian Police confirmed they have found human remains in their search for a </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/missing-persons" rel="" target="_blank" title="man missing"><span>man missing</span></a><span> since late last year.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>Peter Willoughby, 76, from Scottsdale in the state's north-east, was last seen on October 5 in the Hollybank area.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>In a statement, police said remains had been found in the EagleHawk Tier area in Underwood in northern </span><a href="https://www.9news.com.au/tasmania" rel="" target="_blank" title="Tasmania"><span>Tasmania</span></a><span>.</span></div></div><div><div id="adspot-mobile-medium"></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"Forensic testing is yet to be completed, however at this stage we can confirm the remains appear to be an adult human male," Inspector Aleena Crack said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>She added that Willoughby's family had been informed of the discovery.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>"We understand how distressing this development may be for his loved ones, and while everyone involved hopes it will help to provide answers, formal forensic analysis is required before we can determine whether the remains belong to Peter," she said.</span></div></div><div class="block-content"><div class="styles__Container-sc-1ylecsg-0 goULFa"><span>A report will be prepared for the coroner.</span></div></div>
